The owner's desire to facilitate thinking that would lead to true technologies was clearly projected throughout the process of locating the building, realizing its functions and determining its form. The site of Nex1, on the right, northernmost part of Pangyo Techno Valley, forms a slope according to the terrain of the northern neighborhood park. Because the research area and the common use area are separated vertically using the slope of the site, the form of the building appears to flow naturally. Access from the main access road to the lobby on the ground level is very natural, while the floating mass in the upper part creates a strong image of the building as an independent space. In addition, the floating mass and the transparent space of the second level maintain a transparent visual relationship with the left side footpath so that the building facilitates the flow of the site instead of blocking it. The glass surfaces of the south and north sides of the building allow maximum natural light, while the left and right envelopes block noise and control light from the west and give the cutting-edge building speedy symbolism. The functions, vertically zoned inside the building, meet the security requirements for the institute, while the central garden connects all the functions psychologically. Thanks to the clear mutual understanding of the owner's desire from the beginning, the design principles set in the early stage could last until the end despite some changes in specific requirements from Nex1.
