Hyoungkook Kim achieved M.Div and Ph.D from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and Bachelor of Sociology from Yonsei University.
Junglim Architecture exists to create social values, which means a broad sense of creating sound spatial environment beyond such a narrow sense as making profits and contributing them to society. The purpose of Junglim Architecture is to “enrich people’s lives in nature created by God,” said the late Chairman Jeongcheol Kim all the time. To pursue this value and survive in the society of intense struggle for existence, not only a single founding architect or outstanding CEO, but all members of Junglim have to share its philosophy and values to lead the organization as well as themselves.
Junglim is a company driven by philosophy and central values. I expect all the staff, organization and culture will stand upon such philosophy and central values we believe in and want to live with. To this end, I hope we all think and seek for our raison d’etre, relevant roles and alternatives together in the rapidly-changing society and culture for more than 50 years towards a century of history. To be a member of Junglim is not simply to be an architectural professional, but to be a philosophy leader. I hope the philosophy and central values of Junglim permeate its everyday activities throughout all the organization, culture, and people even to the degree that the philosophy chief becomes just nominal.
