The Samyang Discovery Center, located in Pangyo Techno Valley, is the result of solving the problem of providing linkages with the local community and a pleasant living environment for the researchers working at the company. This project, which features an impressive, curved atrium space and façade design, which seems to sway in the wind, was inspired by the window patterns of traditional Korean architecture. This façade was the result of contemplating an eco-friendly architecture, rather than mere ornamentation. The subtle differences in the angle and size of the double-skin envelope serve as a major aspect of the floor plan configuration as well as the exterior form, and help fostering creative work and flexible interaction between the researchers residing in the building.
