K-Water is a main institution which is generally responsible for the water resources in Korea. Escaping from most public buildings which are authoritarian, stuffy, and separate from the public, this new integrated waterworks operation center was designed to embody a new public architecture, in accord with the motto of K-Water that emphasizes water, nature, and people. This intention led to the attempts of reprogramming and restructuring: laying out civil affairs office, exhibition, physical training, and training experience facilities at the lower part, and combining them with natural and open spaces in between.
