The Export-Import Bank of Korea Head Office located in Yeouido Plaza is characterized by a tension created by asymmetrically combining two masses, which symbolically reflects the ambitious corporate image that the head office pursued under the trend of globalization during the 1980s. The visual contrast of the exterior due to the use of granite and glass, and the tension and dynamism created by the prominent diagonal mass, lead to a variety of interior space configurations. This project focuses on the realization of a dynamic symmetry obtained by actively opposing two factors: the image of a building that meets the new, large urban scale of Yeouido, and the construction of an autonomous interior space.
