Due to the growth of Hwaseong city, the original building of the Paltan-Myeon Office required more office space to accommodate new administrative demands. JUNGLIM ARCHITECTURE aimed to devise a contemporary and practical spatial plan and create a space that could function as the centre of the local community. The site was a square plot located in an undeveloped part of the city. Because of its adjacency to green parklands, the building was designed to perform the role of a bridge between city and park. The key programmes are the healthcare center and public petition office. Although they are both public facilities, the two needed to be spatially independent. The ground floor was divided into two zones with the petition office on one side and a waiting room and doctor’s office on the other. The upper floor was equipped with a conference room and seminar room to enable the accommodation of other various programmes.
