‘Officetel’ is a neologism combining with the words ‘office’ and ‘hotel’. According to social norms, it may be defined as ‘a residential unit for a convenient life of young urban men and women’. Thus far, there has been an implicit type of officetel, same as many types of other residences in Seoul. Officetel of Hanyang educational institute started with the goal to become a new, high-quality, and differentiated type of residence with rational functions, not just following the existing type.
